What is the SSS Salary Loan?
The SSS Salary Loan is a short-term cash loan from the Social Security System (SSS) for active Filipino members — employed, self-employed, or voluntary. It's one of the most popular government loans because of its low interest rate and fully online application process.
You're essentially borrowing against your own contributions. The amount depends on how much you've contributed and for how long.
Official SSS Portal: Apply, check eligibility, and track your loan at the official SSS website — www.sss.gov.ph · My.SSS Login: my.sss.gov.ph
Quick facts: Up to ₱48,000 · 10% interest per annum · 1% service fee · 24-month repayment · 3–5 banking days to receive
Who Can Apply?
- Active SSS member with at least 36 posted monthly contributions
- At least 6 contributions posted in the last 12 months
- Below 65 years old at the time of application
- Employer must be up to date on SSS remittances (employed members)
- No existing SSS loan that is past due — or at least 50% of principal already paid
Check first: If your employer hasn't been remitting on time, your contributions won't show as "posted" — and you won't qualify. Log in to my.sss.gov.ph to verify your records before applying.
